About the Role
You will serve as a Engineering Equipment Operator . First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate. WG8 - 30.20(Step 1) - 35.24(Step 5)
What You'll Do
- →Heavy equipment may include: bulldozers, excavators, road graders, skid steers, backhoes, wheeled and tracked loaders, backhoes, wheeled equipment/vehicles, and specialized equipment.
- →Implements may include: mowers, cutter bars, drum choppers, augers, plows, harrows, sprayers, discs, and etc.
- →Plans and coordinates small to medium land management and earth moving projects within applicable specs and requirements.
- →Projects are generally short duration, low person hour, small team, and maintenance or replacement projects.
- →Projects may include culvert replacement, basic levee repair, basic canal and ditch cleaning, maintaining current roads, repairing existing small parking areas, etc.
- →Other equipment that may be operated includes, but is not limited to, Off-Road Utility Vehicles (ORUV's), Amphibious Vehicles, and All-Terrain vehicles, boats and airboats Services, checks, and fuels equipment before operation, checks and services attachments to be used.
- →Performs daily preventative maintenance and makes repairs and adjustments to equipment and attachments to equipment.
- →May install or repair electrical systems incident to the construction or maintenance of family housing units, buildings, quarters, offices, or shops at the different Facilities.
- →Construct, install, or repair items such as frame structures, decking, partitions, shelving, doors, forms, siding, and scaffolds.
Requirements

- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.

- ✓A physical examination will be required, or a statement regarding physical ability will need to be completed.
- ✓You must maintain physical fitness standards throughout employment.
- ✓You are required to wear a uniform and comply with the uniform standards.
