This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: As an Engineering Equipment Operator you will primarily operate a crawler-type tractor with bulldozer or angle dozer attachment in connection with revetment construction and related river and level work. -The duty location will be wherever the Mat Sinking Unit is located.
What You'll Do
- →Constructs and maintains haul roads, loading ramps and drainage ditches.
- →Operates a bulldozer equipped with a bulldozer blade on the rear, for stabilizing, in winching a specially-designed mat-pulling attachment when bank conditions require.
- →Operates tractor in moving mooring cables, dragging equipment, and serving as temporary anchor for floating plant.
- →Excavate earth to fine specifications from engineering stakes to determine degree/angle of fine grading.
- →Systematically inspects, service tests, adjusts, and lubricates all equipment to maintains continuous service or ready for service.
- →Assists general mechanical repairs, including major overhaul and reconditioning.
