This position is located in Golden Gate National Recreation Area, in the Facility Management Division. The primary purpose of this position is to operate gasoline or diesel-powered engineering and construction heavy equipment to grade surfaces to rough specifications on all types of terrain, to include mountains and steep slopes, graded curves and shoulders, hilly forests, rocky ground, and other surfaces with similar rough features. Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment.
What You'll Do
- →The major duties of the Engineering Equipment Operator position include, but are not limited to, the following: Operate two or more types of heavy equipment to excavate, backfill, grade or level earth to fine specifications on such projects as breaking new ground for trails, roads, canals, tunnels, or construction sites.
- →Move earth on moderate slopes, grade curves and shoulders, rocky or soft ground, hilly forest, and other surfaces with similar rough features.
- →Operate engineering equipment on flat and rolling terrain to excavate, backfill, grade or level earth, including roads to exact specifications.
- →Operate equipment on steep, rocky, slick surfaces with little traction Follow established safety procedures to avoid injury and damage equipment or property
Requirements
- ✓Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.

- ✓This is a bargaining unit position There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
