About the Role
You will serve as an ENGINEER in the SENSORS WEAPONS & LAUNCHERS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as an engineering project team leader, technical expert, and senior consultant engaged in technical support of surface launched tactical guided missile weapons systems, weapon systems integration, and Special Projects assigned.
- →You will be responsible for planning, managing, directing, and executing the implementation of technical tasking and logistical services dealing with engineering, and weapons system integration assignments for a variety of missile systems.
- →You will plan, coordinate and control assigned controversial and novel problems/projects that utilize a number of engineers, scientists, and technical specialists from NSWC PHD, other government agencies, laboratories and contractors.
- →You will conduct engineering investigations, analysis, and design studies relative to AUR development, production and life cycle support.
- →You will evaluate engineering performance of surface launched missile systems related to reliability, operation, functionality, maintainability, design or development changes, or systems improvements resulting from planned product improvements.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
