About the Role

You will serve as an Engineer in the Test Engineering and Integration Division, Combat Systems Test and Evaluation Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

What You'll Do

  • You will serve as a weapon system team lead for the Developmental STANDARD Missile related programs.
  • Including Test and Evaluation, Integration and Test activities, and provides team leadership, technical expertise and project management.
  • You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, managing personnel tasking, setting expectations of results, and deconflicting schedules.
  • You will facilitate investigations that drive problem resolution and lessons learned for improving Test and Evaluation processes to better equip personnel for testing safely and effectively.
  • You will drive the integration, testing, and support the execution of live fire missions to ensure successful Combat System Ship Qualification Trials, Developmental Tests, and Fleet Exercises for the Warfighter.
  • You will lead Weapon System Test and Evaluation efforts, coordinating with multiple organizations to meet requirements in the form of both deliverables and deadlines in order to support execution of test events.
  • You will lead integration test events, such as Missile Range Mission Readiness Assessments or Waterfront Integration Tests.
  • You will communicate with sponsors, translating program requirements to specific tasking and generating cost estimates accordingly You will provide technical guidance, generate technical documents, and assist training and development of personnel assigned to STANDARD Missile projects for the Weapon System Integration Test and Evaluation branch.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
  • Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

  • OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
  • Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
