This position is located in Region Six, Recovery Division. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in interagency recovery program planning and implementation, supporting FEMA regional operations through outreach, planning, and program coordination during disaster recovery.
What You'll Do
- →What will I do in this position if hired?
- →In this position, you will be collaborating with the FEMA Mitigation Division and Other Federal Agencies (OFA) to assist in incorporating mitigation, capacity, and resilience building measures into community recovery planning and capacity efforts.
- →Typical assignments include: Successfully handling numerous tasks, often simultaneously, to ensure recovery lines of effort goals and objectives are met.
- →Overseeing a variety of planning and management functions across the recovery operation Collecting, populating and tracking information using inter-agency data analytics and the project management platform "Trax".
- →Developing reports and materials evaluating, advising, and making recommendations to the IRC Branch Chief and Federal Disaster Recovery Officer(FDRO) on the need for focused disaster recovery technical assistance and community planning for the communities affected to operationalize the National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF).
- →Facilitating community and neighborhood workshops and involvement in the disaster recovery and planning process.

- →Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites.
- →All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.
- →Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
