The position oversees the NASA White Sands Test Facility Fire Department and Emergency Dispatch Center to ensure the appropriate fire protection and response capability exists. You will lead and support NASA's emergency management and fire mission by developing plans, training, and readiness activities to protect personnel, facilities, and critical operations in order to prevent, respond to, and recover from hazards; strengthening continuity, safety, and mission resilience across NASA programs.
What You'll Do
- →Serve as the Emergency Management Program Manager, responsible for all facets of Emergency management and preparedness for the White Sands Test Facility.
- →Serve as the NASA White Sands Emergency Manager and provide oversight and insight to the Fire Department and Emergency Dispatch Center for all onsite and local hazards.
- →Serve as the Technical Monitor on the White Sands Emergency Management and Fire contacts.
- →To include participation in the Emergency Management and Fire resource development and source selection teams.
- →Establish and maintain a robust Emergency Management and Fire liaison program with Agency and other Center emergency managers, NASA White Sands tenants, federal, state and local governmental agencies.
- →Ensure NASA White Sands emergency management and fire program plans, training, exercises, and events are fully integrated, synchronized and consistent with NASA standards, requirements and policies.
- →Plan, develop, coordinate and implement drills and exercises for emergency responders and the facility occupants to include tenants and resident agencies.
- →Manage and maintain databases to ensure the constant availability and readiness of the agency Emergency Notification System (ENS).
- →Ensure appropriate number of personnel are trained to operate the ENS for testing and during emergencies.
- →Develop and implement a comprehensive disaster/emergency response and recovery program for the NASA White Sands.
- →Develop and maintain a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP).
