About the Role

This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in Continuity of Operations and Emergency Management (NNC), Security and Continuity of Operations (NN), Chief Administrative Office (N). A successful candidate in the Emergency Management Specialist position will serve as a source of expert information and guidance on continuity of operations and emergency management.

What You'll Do

  • As an Emergency Management Specialist, you will: Provide policy consultation and direction, interpret various requirements and guidelines, and support the implementation of continuity program measures, including risk mitigation needs as prescribed by risk assessments of critical infrastructure assets.
  • Establish and monitor operating continuity and emergency management programs to meet specific needs of the agency, covering a number of locations and a variety of situations.
  • Participate in the development of a regularly tested incident response/recovery plan for all organizational elements, including exercises, and response/recovery test post-mortem procedures which ensure plan maintenance.
  • Inspect and evaluate the effectiveness of continuity and emergency management programs for adequacy, efficiency, and need for improvement.
  • Analyze continuity and emergency management practices and procedures, systems and controls, delegations of authority, operational methods, and organizational efficiency.
  • Consult with operating personnel and other specialists to devise continuity and emergency management systems.
  • Serve as a member of an Incident Management Team.

  • The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain this clearance level; failure to do so may result in separation from federal service.
