About the Role

West Palm Beach VA Medical Center is looking for Electronics Worker Leader. They serve as Work Leader to 5 employees in the electronics section within the Facilities Management Service (FMS) at the West Palm Beach, FL VA medical facility. They assign and coordinates daily work, provides technical guidance, and ensures electronic systems supporting patient care, life safety, and facility operations are maintained, repaired, and operated in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.

What You'll Do

  • The position functions as a work leader over a group of five 5 employees, consisting of (3) WG-2604-11 Electronics Mechanics and (2) GS-0856-10-Electronics Technicians.
  • Passes on instructions received from the supervisor, assigns immediate tasks, establishes work priorities, sequences work, and ensures employees understand job requirements, deadlines, and procedures.
  • Works alongside employees as required, sets the pace of work, and checks work in progress and upon completion to ensure quality, timeliness, and compliance with instructions.
  • Uses schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals to restore systems to proper operating conditions.
  • Plans and coordinates daily work activities for the electronics shop or work group.
  • Coordinates work with other trades, vendors, contractors, and medical center staff.
  • Provides input on material requirements, system outages, and workload priorities to minimize disruption to patient care and facility operations.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations, infection control requirements, life safety standards, and VA policies.
  • Provides on-the-job technical guidance and training to electronics staff on proper work methods, system operation, and safe work practices.
  • Identifies and corrects unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Ensures work orders, preventive maintenance records, inspection logs, and related documentation are completed accurately and timely using automated maintenance management systems such as VISTA, VATAS, and related software.
  • Tracks system performance, outages, and maintenance history and reports status to supervision.
  • Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 0700-1530.
