Electronics Technician

About the Role
Serve as an Electronics Technician at the Chelmsford CMOP, supporting automated systems that ensure timely, accurate medication delivery to Veterans. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize complex electronic and electromechanical equipment in a fast-paced production environment.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Performs preventive maintenance, installation, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of automated CMOP equipment such as conveyor systems, packaging systems, drug-dispensing machines, controllers, sensors, bar-code scanners, label printers, industrial controls, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- →Diagnoses and resolves complex malfunctions in electronic and electromechanical systems by applying analytical methods, interpreting schematics and technical diagrams, and utilizing diagnostic instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and calibration devices.
- →Determines appropriate test and calibration equipment, evaluates subsystem compatibility, and performs system modifications or configuration changes to improve performance, reliability, and operational safety.
- →Plans, schedules, and conducts preventive maintenance activities; develops and revises maintenance procedures, PPE requirements, and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols; and documents maintenance actions in accordance with CMOP requirements.
- →Assists with installation and commissioning of new control systems and automated components; recommends corrective actions, equipment replacements, or engineering adjustments; and provides technical support and training to maintenance staff and CMOP personnel.
- →Supports facility and utilities operations by coordinating equipment shutdowns, participating in safety reviews, and ensuring compliance with facility maintenance and safety standards.
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shift between 5:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., with possible overtime required.
