About the Role
You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the PHYSICAL OCEANOGRAPHY SUPPORT BRANCH (N723) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
What You'll Do
- →You will apply specialized knowledge of scientific data collection and processing systems, electronic system maintenance and design, electromechanical systems, and unmanned systems technology to repair equipment and perform maintenance.
- →You will provide training and make decisions to optimize equipment's operation and performance.
- →You will execute the 3M, (Maintenance and Material management) Program on the assigned platform in accordance with the applicable U.S.
- →Navy instructions and references.
- →You will monitor and assess the performance of all operational survey systems and assumes a leadership role with regard to ensuring that all systems are operating correctly.
- →You will evaluate and repair equipment that has experienced catastrophic failure or which has fallen below optimum operational condition.
- →You will manage General Purpose Electronics Test Equipment (GPETE) for the assigned platform to ensure the properly calibrated GPETE is available for troubleshooting, repair, calibration and adjustment of survey equipment.
- →You will oversee Configuration Management for the assigned platform by performing and documenting authorized field changes, equipment re-configurations, and equipment calibration.
- →You will provide and document job related training to Junior Technicians on preventive maintenance and repair of shipboard equipment and systems.
- →You will instruct operators on the current system configuration and proper use of equipment.
- →You will work with systems Engineers and contractors to coordinate the installation, modification, and reconfiguration of equipment during ship availability or yard overhaul periods, or when field-engineering changes are required.
