About the Role
The primary purpose is Under the guidance of a higher graded employee to serve in a developmental capacity of an Electronics Technician at the GS-09 level. The incumbent is required to complete developmental assignments and training outlined in an established training plan and gain specific skills and knowledge as needed to move to the target grade of Electronics Technician, GS-0856-11; Incumbent must meet all regulatory training requirements prior to promotion to the target grade.

- →GS-11: The primary purpose of this position is: To provide nonprofessional mechanical and electronic work to support to manage, monitor, operate and maintain operational and industrial technology (OIT) system(s) through Direct Digital Controls (DDC) and pneumatic control systems sustaining F.E.

- →Provides expertise to engineers and shop personnel that encompass mechanical, electrical, heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning backgrounds.
- →Responsible to follow policy and guidance to maintain computer hardware and software of the OIT system; which consists of physical and virtual zero client, laptop, and desktop computers which function as operating workstations; servers; and Network Control Modules (NCM).
- →Manages the database writing programs utilizing various software packages to establish energy (temperature, pressure, amps, voltage and gas) threshold levels and decision logic for direct digital controls of environmental mechanical systems such as heating and air conditioning; ventilation; lighting; and water system pumps and flow rates.
- →As the OIT Technician, responsible to install, replace, test, modify and recalibrate direct digital controls (DDC) and operate OIT software.
- →Modifies and adjusts systems and equipment through digital controls when abnormal conditions are detected.
- →Ensure that communication on the network is located and repaired by making adjustments to the OTT network using Data Definitions Language.
- →Perform duties in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulations.
Requirements
- ✓KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: GS-09/GS-10 1.
- ✓Knowledge of basic principles of the classified titled or related field. 2.
- ✓Skill in communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing. 3.
- ✓Ability to learn basic techniques of the classified title. 4.
- ✓Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions. 5.
- ✓Ability to plan and organize work and consult effectively with co-workers.
- ✓Knowledge of safety, environmental, and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3.
- ✓Knowledge of regulations, procedures, and policies related to records maintenance and documentation. 4.
- ✓Skill in troubleshooting electronic problems on large projects and applying test procedures; and in the use of hand and power tools of the electronics trade to include a variety of electronic, electrical, or electromechanical test and measurement equipment. 5.
- ✓Ability to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, and install complete electronic systems. 6.
- ✓Ability to read and interpret a variety of technical data, such as schematics, diagrams, and technical orders relating to the electronics trade.
- ✓PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
- ✓You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
