The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for an Electronics Mechanic. The Electronics Mechanic will function in Engineering Service.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but are not limited to : Installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs electronics equipment of moderate to intricate complexity.
- →Determines components causing malfunctions or invalid readings.
- →Interprets and applies technical information from manufacturers' specifications, schematics, block diagrams and technical orders.
- →Determines operation of the circuits.
- →Makes required repairs by replacing damaged, missing, burnt or faulty items such as printed circuit cards, and transistors, diodes, resistors, etc., using the latest techniques in micro-soldering.
- →Sets up and operates computer controlled automatic test equipment.
- →Selects and loads the test program for the unit under test.
- →Assists engineering personnel in developing, debugging or modifying diagnostic programs by recommending changes where necessary and identifying and investigating apparent contradictions between test specifications or test requirement documents and test programs.
- →Evaluates reports to determine if an item should be returned or if repair or adjustment can be made to continue the testing process.
- →Re-tests all items after repairs are complete to ensure that they pass the diagnostic test without error.
- →The incumbent will also install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot all types of low voltage and data cabling.
- →Performs assigned preventive maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned.
