This position is located at the San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC) within the Electric/Electronics Shop, Maintenance Section, Engineering Service, under the direct supervision of the Electric/Electronics Shop Supervisor. The general nature of the duties involve all aspects of technical support of varied control, communications, automation, life safety, fire and security alarm systems, CCTV, card key access, instrumentation and electronic systems.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties include: Understanding the details of assigned systems, how they are engineered, and the principles of operation, analyzing what system limitations and capabilities exist.
- →Maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of the aforementioned systems.
- →Assisting Medical Center users in the application and training aspects of the systems in evaluating systems under consideration.
- →Insuring the reliability of installed, repaired, and modified Medical Center equipment (electronic) to manufacturers standard.
- →Investigating and resolving hazardous equipment situations or situations where equipment induces interference and recommending to the supervisor when a system is to be removed from service, allowed to be in service, or to be restored to service.
- →The incumbent will occasionally be called up to perform other related duties that may normally be assigned to other units or sections within Engineering Service.
