About the Role

THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group (TASMG), Groton, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the CTARNG. Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the CTARNG.

What You'll Do

  • This position is located within TASMG Projects and may be extended or terminated at the discretion of the TASMG Commander.
  • JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of the position is to perform repair, maintenance, modification, overhaul and installation of a variety of moderately complex electronics equipment.
  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
  • This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Army National Guard.
  • The major duties include, but are not limited to: Repairs, inspects, maintains, modifies, overhauls and installs a variety of avionics electronics equipment of moderate complexity of design, construction, and function.
  • Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and troubleshoots components, assemblies or subassemblies.
  • When designated on NGB Flying Status Orders, serves as member of flight crew for the purpose of diagnosing and recording malfunctions, or otherwise determining maintenance and repair requirements.
  • Guides lower level mechanics in the performance of duties.
  • Processes and accounts for due-in supply assets.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside in well-lighted, heated and ventilated areas or on the aircraft in restricted places, where conditions of heat or cold may occur.
  • Occasionally works outside in inclement weather.
  • Subject to injuries such as electrical shock, cuts and bruises, as well as burns caused by electrical or radio frequency energy, or by soldering irons.
  • Works in high noise environment.
  • PHYSICAL EFFORT: Physical effort involves lifting components and equipment, also working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
