This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Office of the Chief Operations, Office of Utilities and Power Plant Operations, Office of Assistant Director of Utility Distribution Services Division, Electronics Branch. The incumbent is an Electronics Mechanic in the Electronics Branch and may be assigned to either the Day or Evening Electronics Section.
What You'll Do
- →This is an Essential-Employee Position.
- →The employee will be required to report to work during emergencies AND inclement weather situations.
- →Installs or assists contractors to install new systems or upgrades of existing devices and systems.
- →Aligns and balances analog circuits, tests analog and digital circuits and replaces faulty electronic parts and various solid state devices.
- →Identifies and troubleshoots the source and/or cause of operational problems on novel or improved systems when specifications and manuals are inadequate and incomplete.
- →Trains system users on system operation, maintenance and testing procedures.
- →Provides advice and assistance to users as required.
- →Inspects, repairs and tests equipment and systems involved with construction, maintenance, overhaul and conversion projects.
- →Maintains, repairs and adjusts systems and system components.
- →Aligns, balances and tests circuits.
- →Replaces defective electronic parts and solid state devices as appropriate.
- →Maintains and calibrates testing and calibration equipment and instruments.
- →Tests equipment following repairs to ensure it functions according to design specifications and operational requirements.
- →Schedules maintenance during periods when the equipment can be out of service without disrupting mission operations.
