This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), in Transmission Services (T), Transmission Field Services (TF), Operations and Maintenance (O&M). A successful candidate in the Electronics Engineer position will serve as the Power Systems and Control (PSC) Field Engineer performing a wide range of professional engineering studies and assignments for all PSC systems and equipment.
What You'll Do
- →As an Electronics Engineer - Power Systems and Control (PSC) Field Engineer, you will: Work with manufacturers, BPA and other contractor resources for design, test, and integration of new and/or experimental equipment that extends the technology of the industry.
- →Investigate and resolve problems and conditions in electrical PSC systems and equipment impacting costs, efficiency, safety, and performance.
- →Conduct test and energization of new PSC systems and equipment in the District.
- →Participate in planning, organizing, and directing activities of PSC Engineers and Craftsmen working in the District.
- →Represent the District in a variety of technical situations, preparing equipment specifications, maintenance standards and procedures, and other criteria having system wide impact.
- →Participate with District and Regional Management team to identify equipment replacement candidates and recommends enhancements to district facilities to expand or improve service.
- →Review project diagrams, design plans and other coordinating documents for achievement of maintenance requirements and compatibility between new and existing equipment and with site conditions.

- ✓Work may also include frequent lifting of moderately heavy items weighing less than 50 pounds (i.e., 23 kilograms), such as equipment and samples.
- ✓The work involves regular and recurring exposure to moderate risks, discomforts, and unpleasantness such as high noise levels, toxic or irritating chemicals, and adverse weather conditions at sites.
