This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. What You'll Do
- →The primary purpose of this position is: to remove, install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions.
- →The worker in this career field must demonstrate the ability to perform maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, environmental systems, radar, communications, and navigation systems.
- →Serves as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) providing training to assigned personnel in the accomplishment of tasks herein.
- →DUTIES: DUTY 1: Removes, installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, aligns, calibrates, and rebuilds multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions.
- →DUTY 2: Performs pretest, operational (functional), or final testing of electronic systems, components, or subassemblies.
- →Complies with security procedures, regulations and policies.
- →DUTY 3: Advises engineering personnel on the operation and maintenance effects of proposed Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) and/or modifications on new or existing equipment.
- →DUTY 4: Utilizes safety practices and tool control procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work area.
- →DUTY 5: Prepares/executes effective training plans to maximize training.
- →Documents/recommends methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, initiates material deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical data and assists in design changes as necessary.
- →Complies with security procedures, regulations and policies.
