About the Role

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. What You'll Do

  • The primary purpose of this position is: To repair, overhaul, rebuild, modify, test, troubleshoot, remove, replace, align, calibrate, inspect and mate avionics integrated electronic and environmental systems.
  • Severs as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) providing training to reservist in the accomplishment of tasks herein. 1.
  • Installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, aligns, calibrates, and rebuilds multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. 2.
  • Performs pretest, operational (functional), or final testing of electronic systems, components, or subassemblies. 3.
  • Advises engineering personnel on the operation and maintenance effects of proposed Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) and/or modifications on new or existing equipment. 4.
  • Utilizes safety practices and tool control procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work area. 5.
  • Prepares/executes effective training plans to maximize training.
  • Documents/recommends methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, initiates material deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical data, and assists in design changes as necessary.
