This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Superintendent, Senate Office Buildings, Maintenance Branch, Air Conditioning Section. The incumbent installs, maintains, evaluates and adjusts, repairs and calibrates electronic control equipment and systems in support of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) operations in the Senate Office Buildings (SOB).
What You'll Do
- →Tour of duty is: 3rd shift Wednesday (night) to Saturday (night) 8:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
- →This is an Essential-Employee Position.
- →The employee will be required to report to work during emergencies AND inclement weather situations.
- →Work schedule may require some occasionally mandatory overtime on holidays AND weekends.
- →Services Electronic Sensing and Control Systems: Maintains, evaluates, adjusts and repairs existing electronic sensing and control equipment in support of HVAC operations.
- →Installs, operates, maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots sensors, actuators, device controllers and related interface with building equipment.
- →This includes hard-wired and wireless sensing equipment.
- →Monitors the ongoing performance, operates DDC software and makes recommendations for interface improvement.
- →Installs, modifies, operates, maintains, calibrates, evaluates, troubleshoots, adjusts and repairs Direct Digital Controls (DDC) components downstream of building routers (RS-485MSTP- ARCNET) networks and twisted pair cabling as well as related mechanical equipment.
- →Troubleshoots and repairs exceptionally large variety of commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-in and reach -in boxes, water coolers, deep freeze boxes.
- →Also trouble shoots and repairs commercial cooking equipment, mixers.
- →Performs Operational Tests: Operates the Building Automation System (BAS) terminal and other related equipment to display and print point status, change set points and alarm limits and manually controlled points.
- →Develops changes to detailed schematics, drawings and maintenance procedures for use by lower-grade employees.
- →Evaluates and adjusts new system installations and repairs existing systems during operational tests.
