About the Role

This vacancy is for aWG-2805-10, Electrician located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION FACILITY DETROIT in DETROIT, Michigan.

What You'll Do

  • You will serve as an Electrician provide support of the U.S.
  • Coast Guard (USCG), Industrial Production Facility, Industrial Operations Division, which includes the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical wiring systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment in industrial, institutional, office, and residential building, and on ships.
  • Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
  • Typical work assignments include: Installing, modifying, repairing, loading and testing systems, circuits, equipment and controls with little or no check during the progress or upon completion of the work.
  • Interpreting and applying the National Electrical Code, local codes, building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings, and uses trade formulas to calculate common properties e.g., voltage, voltage drop and current capability in series and parallel circuits.
  • Determining location of existing electrical devices and service entrances and placing new ones.
  • Planning and laying out work, tracing hard-to-locate defects or problems, and completing repairs and installations.
  • Installing, modifying, repairing, and maintaining electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment.
