About the Role
This position is part of the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management - National Energy Technology Laboratory, Department of Energy. As an Economist, you will perform a broad range of professional economics work, which involves the formulation, programming and guidance of a very large, or two or more large, economic analysis projects, or continuing programs.

- →Veterans shape the future of energy As an Economist, you will: Conduct systematic economic analyses and modeling to collect industry data, trace market trends, and provide strategic policy inputs for national and international energy programs.
- →Advise senior agency leadership and program sponsors as an authoritative consultant on complex economic issues, policy implications, and budget recommendations.
- →Evaluate the economic impacts of new technologies, policies, and market forces by designing, testing, and validating advanced parametric economic models.
- →Manage complex economic research projects from inception to completion, which includes defining the research scope, coordinating multidisciplinary project teams, and managing timelines.
- →Prepare and disseminate comprehensive research findings through peer-reviewed articles, technical reports, and presentations at major professional and economic conferences.
- →Establish policy guidelines and impact-assessment frameworks to analyze the economic, environmental, and social benefit-cost ratios of proposed energy initiatives.
