About the Role
The Bureau of Labor Statistics measures labor market activity, working conditions, price changes, and productivity in the U.S. economy to support public and private decision making. This position is with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Office of Field Operations, San Francisco Region, Division of Price Programs, Industrial Price.
What You'll Do
- →This position is the technical expert for the Industrial Price programs in the San Francisco Region and performs the following duties: Collects data for the most complex industries and companies in the region.
- →These include the most heavily weighted companies and products as well as those deemed to be "essential" for meeting program publication goals.
- →Serves as a technical expert, providing technical leadership in the following areas: Takes the lead in initiating new industries and/or rapidly changing product areas for the region.
- →As a regional non-response specialist, contacts major companies that have refused the incumbent or other field staff in order to secure cooperation.
- →May assist the program offices by attempting to secure the cooperation of firms that have stopped repricing activities.
- →Serves as regional expert on BLS and DOL confidentiality and security issues that impact Industrial Price data collection activities.
- →Stays up to date with BLS and DOL policy changes.
Requirements
