About the Role
The incumbent serves as Director of the VA Regional Office. The Director is responsible to the Under Secretary for Benefits through the District Director for the effective, efficient, and economical direction, control, and operation of the Veterans Benefits Administration's program of benefits and services provided by law for Veterans, their dependents, and beneficiaries. *PCS - Relocation Expenses with Temporary housing is authorized for this position within applicable regulations.*
What You'll Do
- →Specific duties include: Responsible for the coordination, integration, and management of the Veterans benefits and administrative programs of the Regional Office.
- →Shares with the District Director responsibility for the pursuit of optimum performance in all program areas, emphasizing priorities established by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and the Under Secretary for Benefits.
- →Provides executive oversight, evaluation, and leadership for the following VBA programs and services at the Regional Office: Compensation and Pension, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment, Information Resources and Technology, Budget/Finance, Human Resources, Strategic Planning, Equal Employment Opportunity, and VBA education and loan programs assigned to the Regional Office.
- →Responsible for the efficient and effective direction, control, and operation of the Regional Office and the delivery of benefits and services provided by law for Veterans, their dependents, and beneficiaries.
- →Ensures the efficient and effective use of staff and financial resources in the administration of VBA programs at the Regional Office.
- →Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, hours to be determined by hiring office.
- →Compressed: May be available as determined by the hiring office.
- →Telework: Ad-hoc telework may be authorized as determined by the agency policy.
- →Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

- →Relocation expenses and services (Permanent Change of Station - PCS) are authorized for this recruitment.
- →PCS is the relocation of a household due to government convenience in connection with the transfer between duty stations or facilities.
- →In consideration of the payment of expenses for travel and transportation, the selectee agrees to remain in federal service for twelve (12) months following the date of transfer.
- →Failure to complete all conditions of the obligated service may result in repayment of travel/transportation expenses.
Requirements
