What You'll Do
- →The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is looking for an experienced senior level executive to serve as the Director, Technical Division.
- →The Director, Technical Division, reporting directly to the Director, OAL, manages staff which analyze and resolve cases set for hearing concerning natural gas, oil, and electric matters.
- →Cases set for hearing are resolved in a manner that is consistent with the public interest, protects customers and promotes competitive markets.
- →In addition, cases are settled or litigated in a timely, efficient, and equitable manner.
- →The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and executing the technical work for the Office that is associated with resolving cases set for hearing.
- →The incumbent serves as the primary technical advisor to Director, OAL, for overall litigation policy and management.
- →More specifically, the incumbent personally or through Division staff: In conjunction with the Director, OAL, oversees the development of policy for processing administrative litigation based on consensual decision-making and use of ADR techniques.
- →Oversees staff collaboration among professional disciplines, applying legal, economic, accounting, public utility, and engineering knowledge at the Commission to develop staff positions for the resolution of proceedings, and to develop an adequate record for Commission review of litigated or settled cases.
- →Directs and oversees the preparation of technical staff of the Office, including preparation of staff settlement positions, testimony and exhibits in Commission cases involving electric and natural gas/oil pipeline rate and tariff matters.
- →Provides support and assistance to the Office Director to ensure that all programmatic responsibilities of OAL are accomplished in an efficient and effective manner.
- →As directed, the Director, Technical Division will represent the Office Director and the FERC in matters involving administrative litigation and complaint settlement.
Requirements
- ✓Must be a U.S.
- ✓Citizen or National.
- ✓Subject to a 1-year SES/supervisory probationary period (unless already completed).
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓This is not a bargaining unit position.
- ✓File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report OGE-278e within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
