What You'll Do

  • As a Director for Systems Operations some of your typical work assignments include: Communicating complex technical, regulatory, operational, and policy information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including senior officials, employees, contractors, other agencies, regulated entities, and the public.
  • Listening attentively and seeking clarification.
  • Communicating complex technical, regulatory, operational, and policy information clearly, accurately, and logically through policies, procedures, analyses, recommendations, reports, correspondence, technical guidance, and other official documentation.
  • Translating complex information into actionable recommendations that support executive decision-making, regulatory compliance, records integrity, systems operations, and organizational objectives.
  • Providing strategic direction and organizational leadership for complex, mission-critical operations; establishing priorities, expectations, accountability, and performance objectives; developing employees and contractors; and building collaborative relationships across organizational and institutional boundaries.
  • Leading organizational change, resolving complex workforce and operational issues, and exercising sound judgment.
  • Demonstrating the ability to identify, evaluate, select, and effectively use technology to accomplish organizational objectives.
  • Applying advanced knowledge of systems operations to assess current and emerging technologies, ensuring they align with mission needs and support enterprise-wide efficiency.
  • Developing and executing strategic and operational plans for complex programs, systems, and mission-critical operations.
  • Establishing objectives, priorities, requirements, performance measures, resource needs, and risk-management strategies.
  • Evaluating organizational performance, programs, processes, systems, workforce capabilities, and contractor operations; anticipating future requirements; assessing alternatives; and implementing data-informed improvements to achieve mission objectives efficiently and effectively.
