About the Position: This position is in the Nutrition Services Department, Clinical Nutrition Division. This position will serve as the primary weekend coverage dietitian, with scheduled work hours two weekends per month. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Assess medical nutritional needs of adult inpatients, covering a variety of disease states.
- →Provide independent and comprehensive medical nutrition therapy to include in-depth nutritional assessment, calculation of nutritional needs, monitoring, and evaluating nutrition interventions.
- →Design and recommend specific feeding regimens, including enteral and parenteral nutrition support using current published standards or practice.
- →Counsel patients and families on complex feeding regimens.
- →Serve as a preceptor for clinical nutrition rotations for dietetic interns enrolled in military and civilian programs.
- →Collaborate with diet technicians, Patient Room Services, and multi-disciplinary services throughout the hospital.
