The Lead IR Technologist has the responsibility for assisting in the coordination and the technical performance of exams performed by the Interventional Radiology Section. The position also oversees DRT technical staffing support of the Hybrid OR (if applicable) and other procedure rooms. The incumbent works closely with Radiologists, Surgeons, Nurses, Chief Technologist, and Radiology Manager, and other hospital staff.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but not limited to: Manages and directs the work or IR/Cath lab and IR technologists.
- →Develops and maintains a weekly rotational technologist schedule to ensure fair and equal assignments of the technologists and their duties.
- →Initiates recommendations to higher authorities on changes to increase productivity, revise staffing, assure cost efficiency and improve morale.
- →Performs routine clerical procedures, scheduling and registering patients in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- →Incumbent is responsible to schedule, re-schedule, and cancel patient examinations according to their current status within this section of Radiology.
- →Ensures all interventional radiology requests and entered with pertinent radiology information into computer system.
- →Directs the following duties performed by all assigned technologists and clerical personnel: requests, registers, completes, cancels and edits exams via the computer radiology information system (RIS) and the patients' Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
- →Incumbent will ensure self, and staff is reporting equipment malfunctions properly, timely and accurately.
- →Recommends, coordinates and evaluates new or modified procedures/protocols.
- →Provides information to employees concerning management goals and objectives and provides higher-level supervisors with timely feedback on employee's participation and concerns.
- →Coordinates new product evaluation.
- →Recommends methods and products to reduce costs and/or increase quality.
- →Continually reviews new developments in the field Interventional Radiology.
- →Ensures all Interventional exams utilize appropriate surgical sterile techniques, when required.
