About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • VA Careers - Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist: https://youtube.com/embed/I-4ku5UMvWM Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The responsibilities are to perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging studies and performs technical work in support of diagnostic radiology procedures for the patients of this medical center.
  • Duties include: Examinations include, but are not limited to, MRI examinations of the chest, abdomen, pelvis head, extremities, neck, etc.
  • Prepare room, equipment and material needed for patient procedures.
  • Prepares injectable contrast and other chemical mixtures as necessary.
  • Administer contrast material, under the direction of the radiologist or other physician, according to protocols.
  • Follows prescribed protocols required to perform procedures.
  • Is aware of safety issues related to a strong magnetic field and the injection of contrast materials.
  • Incumbent performs safety screening, observes patients during procedures and reports complications or unusual events.
  • Perform computer work and required forms associated with patient exams, credit of patient visits, complications, production of hardcopy images and/or quality improvement activities of the Radiology Department.
  • Aways maintain a clean work area and adequate level of supplies within their assigned rooms and reports equipment problems to the supervisor immediately.
  • Practice's hospital safety, radiation safety, MRI safety, infection control and universal precautions always in accordance departmental and hospital procedures.
  • The incumbent may be cross trained in special procedures to maximize utilization of personnel.
  • Continually reviews new developments int he field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Is continually alerted to improve quality of exams utilizing the new technologies available.
