About the Position: Serves as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist at a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) within the Defense Health Agency (DHA). This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment and relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Advanced Leave Accrual may be authorized. Advanced In-Hire may be authorized.
What You'll Do
- →Performs computerized axial tomographic scanning of heads and/or bodies.
- →Directs the work of lower graded technologists/technicians when procedures require assistance.
- →Schedules, receives, and reviews requests from physicians and other healthcare providers for examinations.
- →Determines the condition(s) at issue and the procedures and equipment to best meet the needs of the individual case.
- →Monitors equipment status indicators to prevent damage and liaisons with equipment providers, equipment vendors, and equipment maintenance.
- →Starts intravenous fluids and monitors all devices.
- →Assists in the training of other Radiologic Technologists and On the Job Trainees.
- →Assists with after hours inquiries (usually by phone) regarding technical aspects of scans and/or patient care.
