The Miami VA Healthcare System's Diagnostic Imaging Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist. The DRT Performs routine to moderately complex radiographic examination procedures. These exams are achieved by using diagnostic x-ray equipment such as fluoroscopic units, digital diagnostic units, portable units and C-Arm equipment used the Operating Room.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized As a Radiology Tech, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations to help diagnose and treat illnesses as well as injury.
- →Your duties may include operating imaging equipment, keeping images and records, and working with patients to explain procedures.
- →Duties Include, but not limited to.
- →Perform computerized tomography of the head, neck, spine, chest, and body with and without the use of contrast materials.
- →Prepare and administers contrast materials when needed for exams.
- →Perform image reconstructions on advanced workstations as directed by the radiologist or as part of a given study.
- →Maintains proficiency on reconstruction techniques.
- →Maintain records and files of exams performed on patients.
- →Continually review new developments in the field of computerized tomography and is continually on the alert to improve quality of exams utilizing the new technologies available.
- →Perform scheduled Quality Control scans and measurements as indicated by computed tomography vendor.
- →Ensure that images are successfully transmitted to PACS and are available for Radiologic interpretation.
- →Perform all exams using Universal Precautions.
- →Properly identifies patient images so that mistaken identity of patient images does not occur.
- →Assure that procedure rooms are always stocked with necessary supplies with special attention to emergent equipment and supplies.
