About the Role
The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Computed Tomography - CT) at the GS-9 level serves at an advanced level. The incumbent performs in the role of a multimodality technologist with a substantially full range of duties in general radiology and computed tomography at the Syracuse, NY VAMC. The incumbent must have advanced registry in CT by the ARRT in order to practice in this facility.
What You'll Do
- →PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS A INTERMITTENT POSITION Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The incumbent must be able to prioritize and triage all imaging requests in the CT and general radiology section of the Imaging Department.
- →The incumbent independently performs general radiology, portable radiology, and O.R. radiology exams.
- →The technologist at this level independently performs advance CT procedures such as Cardiac CT and Angiographic studies.
- →The incumbent performs complex radiographic studies with minimal general supervision.
- →The technologist at this level serves as proctor for providing clinical requirements for admission to the CT ARRT boards for new technologists.
- →Supervises and documents requirements need to complete didactic theory, and lab requirement ARRT requirements.
- →At this level, the incumbent performs all the advanced CT procedures including complex patient examinations with little physician supervision.
- →The technologist performs veno-puncture for venous access for iodinated contrast exams.
- →The incumbent may be called upon to assist in performing procedures in other specialty modalities.
- →The CT technologist performs general X-ray, fluoroscopic studies, pain blocks, DEXA scanning and CT duties as needed.
- →Work Schedule: Intermittent, needs of the department.
