The Marion VA Health Care System is seeking a full-time Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT), Computed Tomography (CT). Technologist independently performs routine and complex computed tomography (CT) procedures according to established protocol, in a safe and professional manner.

- →Exams are performed with and without the use of contrast materials.
- →The technologist will also independently perform as a diagnostic radiologic technologist (DRT) responsible for the performance and coordination of all diagnostic radiology examinations and any additional duties appointed by the Imaging Supervisor.
- →Duties Include: Independently performs routine and complex computed tomography procedures with and without contrast material according to established protocol, in a safe and professional manner.
- →Independently performs as a diagnostic technologist in the performance and coordination of all diagnostic radiology examinations, within the Imaging Department, critical areas of the hospital and surgical suites.
- →Employee may also be subject to occasional travel and be asked to provide coverage at other satellite locations if needed.
- →The purpose of these exams is to obtain quality diagnostic studies enabling proper diagnosis and treatment Schedules performance of CT exams in a manner to optimize procedural scan times while maintaining flexibility for emergency cases.
- →This requires the aptitude to prioritize scheduled patients as well as the ability to accommodate the emergency patient who may need immediate emergency care, etc.
- →Prepares contrast materials that are used in CT and diagnostic exams.
- →Improper use or administration of the contrast materials run the risk of patient mortality and, therefore, it is essential that the technologist thoroughly understand the use of contrast material.
- →The technologist is certified to insert IV needles for administration of contrast material.
- →Routinely cleans and inspects equipment to insure proper mechanical and electrical administration of the contrast materials run the risk of patient mortality and, therefore, it is essential that the technologist thoroughly understand the use of contrast material.

- →Routinely cleans and inspects equipment to insure proper mechanical and electrical operation and promptly reports any deficiencies to the supervisor.
Requirements
