This vacancy announcement is open to Department of Interior, Office of the Secretary (OS) employees only. What You'll Do
- →This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary (OS), Office of International Affairs (INT), Washington D.C.
- →At the full performance level (None) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Provides strategic leadership for international programs, developing multi-year strategies, annual operating plans, and Departmental positions on international issues.
- →Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, ethics, travel, procurement, information security, and internal controls governing international activities; conducts periodic reviews to mitigate risk.
- →Supervises a multidisciplinary staff, setting priorities, evaluating performance, and managing recruitment, staffing, and workforce planning to support domestic and overseas operational needs.
- →Formulates and manages multi-year budgets and annual funding requests; oversees financial execution, prepares justifications and briefings, and leads risk management and resource stewardship.
- →Develops, negotiates, and manages international agreements-such as MOUs, IAAs, and cooperative agreements-ensuring alignment with mission objectives and compliance requirements.
- →Represents the Department in interagency forums, working groups, and policy discussions; provides expert advice to senior leadership on international and interagency priorities.
- →Plans and leads Department participation in international engagements, preparing briefing materials and ensuring alignment with foreign policy, mission objectives, and diplomatic protocols.
- →Oversees foreign technical assistance and international operations functions, ensuring accountability, fiscal compliance, and alignment with Departmental and U.S. government priorities.
- →Salary Information GS-15; $169,279 - $197,200 per annum.
- →First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
- →This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
