About the Role

This position is located in the District of Columbia Superior Court, Administrative Services Division (ASD). The Deputy Administrative Officer works directly with and serves under the general supervision of the Administrative Officer. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and executing Administrative Services programs and Operational programs.

What You'll Do

  • Brief description of the major duties: Responsible for the management and oversight of a major branch, ensuring seamless coordination and collaboration among all administrative functional areas.
  • This includes the preparation and analysis of data management reports, detailed summaries, statistical data, and other relevant information to support informed decision-making.
  • Serves as the Administrative Services Division Liaison for audit-related requests from auditors and the Budget and Finance Division.
  • Manages the Division's annual spending plan, including resource tracking and budget forecasting for the upcoming fiscal year.
  • In coordination with the Budget and Finance Division, utilizes the Federal Financial System to identify and recover unused obligated funds for reallocation and reuse by the Court.
  • Executes assigned programs and policies including planning, organizing, staffing and the provision of management information.
  • Recommends, discusses, and collaborates with Court officials to plan future physical relocations that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across the Court.
  • Coordinate and oversee the transfer and installation of equipment within the Court's divisions to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Evaluates organizational structures and recommends improvements in alignment with personnel management programs, fiscal operations, and advancements in technology within the Administrative Division.
  • Designs, monitors, and evaluates studies, pilot programs, and process improvements to enhance work methods and operational efficiency within the Division.
  • Assembles, reviews, prepares, and analyzes budget materials, makes recommendations to the Administrative Officer in support of the annual budget formulation and supplemental funding requests.
  • Consults and advises Senior Court officials and Division Chiefs on Court policies and programs that affect operational activities

  • Most military, federal and District of Columbia government service counts toward the time required to go into the next higher annual leave category.
  • Employees can carry over no more than 240 hours of annual leave into the next leave year.
  • Sick Leave is used for personal medical needs, care of a family member, or adoption related purposes.
  • Full-time employees earn four(4)hours of sick leave biweekly.
