About the Role
You will serve as a DATA SCIENTIST in the FORCE IMPROVEMENT OFFICE of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING SYSTEMS COMMAND.
What You'll Do
- →You will lead complex analytical investigations and exploratory data studies to support strategic decision-making across NAVFAC leadership and customer organizations.
- →You will formulate innovative research designs to resolve ambiguous, ill-defined problems characterized by sparse or non-standard data.
- →You will conduct continuous evaluation of evolving business, functional, and technical requirements across NAVFAC programs.
- →You will assess emerging industry technologies and machine learning capabilities to continually modernize analytical toolsets, enhance predictive precision, and expand analytical capacity across FIO.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess either Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position.
- ✓The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
