This vacancy is for a GS-0303-5, Customer Service Clerk located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, CG UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION CENTER -UDC in CAPE MAY, New Jersey.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a Customer Service Clerk and be responsible for performs a variety of recruit service and clerical functions in support of uniform issues at the UDC.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Issues required uniforms to new recruits by preparing and organizing the recruit uniform processing room with standardized layouts of common-size items (e.g., belts, watch caps, gloves) to ensure efficient issuance and accurate inventory accountability.
- →Performs inspection of recruits in uniforms to ensure their proper fit at the time of issuance.
- →Familiar with military uniform regulations, alteration and fitting requirements, uniform item descriptions, to ensure accuracy when issuing items and answering a myriad of questions from various personnel.
- →Detailed understanding of inventory system operations to include such functions as (1) decrementing inventory, (2) voiding a transaction, and (3) posting the transactions at the end of the day is required.
- →Enter, modify, retrieve, and delete information in automated computer systems that are unique to internal and external organizations.
- →Requests for RA for the USA Hire Competency Based Assessments and appropriate supporting documentation for RA must be received prior to starting the USA Hire Competency Based Assessments.
- →Decisions on requests for RA are made on a case-by-case basis.
- →If you meet the minimum qualifications of the position, after notification of the adjudication of your request, you will receive an email invitation to complete the USA Hire Competency Based Assessments, based on your adjudication decision.
- →You must complete all assessments within 48 hours of receiving the URL to access the USA Hire Competency Based Assessments if you received the link after the close of the announcement.
