About the Role
This position is located in Office of Intelligence Operations, National Firearms Trafficking Center in Tucson, AZ. The selectee serves as a consultant and expert advisor to external law enforcement agencies and participates in major ATF policy and program planning initiatives.
What You'll Do
- →The major duties of the Criminal Investigator (Southwest Border Coordinator) position include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides investigative expertise and oversight for criminal investigation and organizational performance.
- →Serves as a consultant and expert advisor to external law enforcement agencies and participates in major ATF policy and program planning initiatives.
- →Participates directly with outside law enforcement agencies and appropriate executive level officials in ATF to develop broad operating policies and operational initiatives.
- →Plans, directs, coordinates, and oversees studies and surveys to evaluate programs and ensure efficiency and economy of operations.
Requirements

- ✓Citizen or National Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31, 1959.

- ✓May be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- ✓Requires proficiency with a firearm per ATF's Standard.
- ✓You must be a current permanent ATF employee with competitive status or a CTAP/RPL eligible candidate.
- ✓Pass drug screening and subject to random drug test.
- ✓Suitable for Federal employment determined by background investigation.
- ✓You must meet all applicable time-in-grade requirements by the closing of this announcement.
