About the Role
As a Special Agent with the GSA OIG Office of Investigations, you will be responsible for conducting and reporting upon investigations of suspected criminal violations affecting the programs, operations, and employees of the GSA consistent with the Inspector General Act of 1978. Location of Position: Office of Investigations Southeast & Caribbean Division Atlanta, GA We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
What You'll Do
- →As Criminal Investigator, you will serve as a Special Agent performing the following duties: Plans, coordinates and conducts complex investigations into criminal and civil violations of law and administrative matters relating to GSA programs, operations and employees.
- →Performs investigative activities such as interviewing witnesses and subjects of investigation; executing search warrants, serving judicial process such as subpoenas and summons; conducting surveillance; and obtaining and preserving evidence.
- →Presents investigative results orally and establishes and maintains liaison with investigative and legal personnel in the other Offices of Inspectors General, U.S.
- →Attorneys, Federal Bureau of lnvestigation and federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
- →Prepares written reports of investigative activities and final reports of investigation pursuant to OIG guidelines.
- →Plans and conducts surveillance and makes arrests.
- →Testifies in court proceedings.
Requirements
- ✓If selected, you must meet the following conditions: Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
- ✓If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C or Non-Career SES employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the HR Office.
- ✓Failure to disclose this information could result in disciplinary action including removal from Federal Service.
- ✓Have your identity and work status eligibility verified if you are not a GSA OIG employee.
- ✓We will use the Department of Homeland Security's e-Verify system for this.
- ✓Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of continued employment.
- ✓Serve a one-year probationary period, if required.
