About the Role
This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, OJS, Internal Affairs Division Phoenix, AZ. Conduct in-depth interdepartmental investigations of varied allegations against law enforcement officers and other employees. What You'll Do
- →As Criminal Investigator, GS-1811, your typical work assignments may include, but not limited to: Plans and conduct criminal investigations involving a number of complex and varied allegations against law enforcement officers and other employees.
- →Examples include: improper use of force, assault, shootings and other firearm violations, theft, fraud embezzlement, bribery, other allegations with potential for criminal charges.
- →Performs surveillance of sites and suspects, to obtain evidence, establish probable cause, or to link suspects and events to criminal activity or other misconduct.
- →Investigates, detains, apprehends or arrests persons charged with violations of Federal, state, local, or tribal laws.
- →Testifies at · hearings and trials at various locations and jurisdictions, to include administrative appeals, or other hearings involving case work and employees.
- →Obtains search and arrest warrants through processes of affidavit and executes warrants and other court papers.
- →Search for and properly maintain evidence.
