About the Role
These are TEMPORARY, INTERMITTENT position(s) located in the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), Bureau of Diplomatic Security. The incumbent serves as a Criminal Investigator responsible for providing and supporting protective security activities and specialized investigative assistance to DSS Special Agents on all related investigative matters.
What You'll Do
- →Plans, coordinates, and executes protective security operations for senior officials and designated protectees of the U.S.
- →Department of State.
- →Analyzes classified and sensitive information to identify and assess threats directed toward protected persons, facilities, and official events.
- →Serves as the principal liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement and intelligence agencies to ensure coordination of protective operations.
- →Coordinates investigative activities among Department of State investigative elements, Regional Security Officers overseas, foreign law enforcement authorities, and other federal, state, or local investigative organizations.
- →Conducts detailed investigative research and analysis of records from law enforcement databases, government information systems, financial records, travel documentation, and open-source information.
