The primary purpose of this position is to independently perform a wide range of cargo processing operations, including rigging and operations of a 35 ton bridge crane; inspection, certification, blocking/bracing of hazardous and explosive cargo; and the operating of various types of heavy vehicles and material handling equipment.
What You'll Do
- →- Operate bridge crane.
- →Performs visual and operational checks of all moving parts prior to start of work and reports any discrepancies noted. - Selects and utilizes proper rigging equipment.
- →Requires knowledge of established trade practices and techniques to select and install rigging equipment such as spreader bars, slings, cables, shackles, adjustable chain slings, or nylon slings used to lift, move, and position a variety of large and heavy items.
- →Maintains records and documents actions: Uses computer terminals, optical readers, bar code wands, scanners, handheld terminals, etc. - Performs material handling duties, including the use of tools and other equipment, in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulations.
- →Supports management and local directives.
