This position is in the Eligibility Enrollment Verification Department (EEV), Civilian Health and Medical Program Directorate (CHAMPVA), Veteran and Family Member Programs (VFMP) Directorate, Office of Integrated Veteran Care (IVC), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The primary function of the position is to resolve escalated issues for Veterans, beneficiaries, and medical providers.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties: Reviews and analyzes high-level inquiries from Congress, the White House, VA leadership, and other sources to identify issues and provide accurate resolutions.
- →Verifies the accuracy of Veteran and beneficiary data in CHAMPVA systems by comparing records with source documents in DAPER, VBMS, and related repositories.
- →Identifies improper payments based on eligibility findings and initiates bill of collection actions, including preparing required recoupment correspondence.
- →Corrects data discrepancies within claims payment and eligibility system (CP&E) and Veteran Eligibility System (VES) to maintain accuracy and compliance with CHAMPVA program requirements.
- →Performs administrative tasks related to inquiry resolution, including documentation, follow-up actions, and coordination with internal program offices.
- →Contacts Veterans and beneficiaries to verify information, request documentation, or resolve discrepancies in a professional and customer-focused manner.
- →Updates address information, verifies reported deaths, and processes benefit changes by collaborating with appropriate departments to ensure seamless transitions.
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
- →Work Schedule: Full-time, 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, with tours scheduled between 6:30am-4:30pm EST.
- →Telework: This position may be authorized for Ad-hoc telework.
- →Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
- →Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
- →Return to Office (RTO): RTO mandates are in effect and selectees will be required to report to in-person work unless they are approved for an exception or an exemption.
