This Congressional Liaison communicates with congressional aides and other outside entities telephonically to resolve inquiries about difficult cases and questions about VBA benefits. The incumbent reviews all the Congressional, White House, Secretary and other special inquiries received by letter and telephone in order to determine the proper disposition of these inquiries. This review includes use of the computer systems and review of claims folders.
What You'll Do
- →Specific duties include: Reviews all Congressional, White House, Secretary, and other special inquiries received by letter and telephone.
- →Responds to all inquiries by telephone or in writing.
- →Researches and analyzes inquiries to determine the correct course of action.
- →Discusses with management to determine the correct course of action.
- →Provides information pertaining to services and benefits available to Veterans.
- →Provides training for congressional staffers.
- →Provides training to new employees regarding communication with Congressional Offices and special inquiries.
- →Provides feedback and training on trends and issues which are presented by the Congressional Staff.
- →Develops and processes claims to assist in the completion of the inquiry.

- →Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday: 8am - 4:30pm Compressed/Flexible: As determined by the hiring office Telework: Yes - This position is eligible for situational (ad hoc) telework only.
- →The selectee is required to report to the official duty station each scheduled workday.
- →Telework may be approved only on a case-by-case basis with supervisory approval.
- →Routine or recurring telework is not authorized for this position.
Requirements

- ✓All education claimed by applicants will be verified upon appointment.
- ✓If you are using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript to receive credit.
