About the Role
This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Denver Region. It is located in the Bismarck Area Office. This position is at the full performance level. Position is in the bargaining unit. A writing sample may be included as a part of the interview process. Selectee will be expected to report to the office. The official title of this position is Industrial Hygienist
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Applies technical knowledge and expertise to evaluate workplace conditions, advise others, and resolve technical issues.
- →Plans and conducts inspections or compliance reviews of worksites, identifying hazards and recommending corrective actions.
- →Investigates incidents, including fatalities and serious injuries, and determines areas requiring immediate intervention.
- →Collects and analyzes samples from worksites, prepares detailed reports, and recommends controls for identified hazards.
- →Calculates and adjusts penalties for violations using automated systems, considering severity and probability of harm.
- →Communicates findings, gains compliance, and provides technical advice to employers and employee organizations, including testifying in legal proceedings.
Requirements

- ✓If your education was completed at a foreign college or university, you must show comparability to education received in accredited educational institutions in the United States and comparability to applicable minimum coursework requirements for this position.
