About the Role
You will serve as the Community Planning Liaison Officer with direct reporting to the Installation Commanding Officer in the N4 Public Works Department of NAVAL WEAPONS STATION CRANE.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as the principal civilian advisor and representative for the installation on encroachment management, including community planning, land use planning and intergovernmental coordination.
- →You will facilitate the development of land areas and planning concepts in discussions with citizen groups, governmental organizations (local, regional, state officials) and professionals (e.g., engineers, architects, lawyers, or other professionals.
- →You will develop innovative solutions to unique land use and encroachment problems and provide expert advice and recommendations to military and community leaders.
- →You will communicate with personnel (e.g., peers, customers, and leadership) on issues, options, and recommended solutions related to assigned community planning programs and projects.
Requirements
- ✓Note: Applicants with degrees in related fields, such as those listed above, who do not have the 12 semester hours of specified course work must have had at least 1 year of work experience in community planning acquired under the supervision and guidance of a community planner.
- ✓OR Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in one of the above disciplines, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the above disciplines of which at least 12 semester hours were in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
