About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the senior closed microphone reporter, responsible for the most difficult cases and for the training and work review of less experienced military/civilian reporters. Records and transcribes high speed, verbatim dictation, involving specialized terminology, using a closed microphone or similar mechanical equipment, in support of the Air Force judicial system and other statutory or regulatory proceedings requiring a transcript of proceedings.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as senior closed microphone reporter, utilizing a closed microphone and voice recognition technology to record high speed dictation at various types of informal and formal legal proceedings, such as courts-martial, grievance hearings, and investigation boards.
- →Transcribes, certifies transcripts and records of trials, ensuring that proper notations are made as to the swearing of court or board members, legal advisors, counsel, and witnesses.
- →Performs actions necessary to prepare for hearings and other proceedings.
- →Uses varied and advanced functions of word processing software to create, format, modify, edit, and print a variety of transcripts, letters, reports, memos, and other legal documents.
