About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Psychologist-Program Manager position is located at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, and is responsible for the complete oversight and management of the Drug Dependency Treatment Center in the Mental Health service line.
- →Major Duties: Program Management Elements Develops, implements, and oversees policies and procedures to meet national, VISN, and local strategic and operational goals, priorities, and benchmarks.
- →Reviews all consults received, assigns cases to appropriate clinicians based on Veterans' needs, and ensures timely access to services.
- →Provides direct supervision (including performance appraisals, approving time/leave, and, when necessary, administering discipline) to assigned staff, and programmatic supervision to the multidisciplinary staff embedded in program area, as determined by MHSL leadership.
- →Engages in continuous improvement efforts.
- →Initiates and supports multiple internal performance improvement (PI) projects and reports findings regularly to key stakeholders, including the Mental Health Service Line PI Committee.
- →Maintains effective relationships with the Veteran's Justice Outreach Program and the Veteran's Treatment Court to maximize engagement and continuity of care.
- →Clinical Element Provides a full range of high quality, patient-centered, recovery-oriented, and evidenced-based psychological services, including but not limited to clinical assessment; psychoeducation; episodes of efficient, evidence-based therapeutic services to individuals, couples, family members, and groups; and clinical consultation.
- →Documents all clinical work accurately, clearly, comprehensively, and in a timely fashion, consistent with the MHSL and facility expectations, rules, and policies.
- →Organizes and leads clinical team huddles/meetings and reviews cases based on program operational needs.
- →Participates in the Psychology Training Program and the Psychology Training Committee Meeting and fulfills all obligations to trainees per Training Program requirements.
- →Assumes responsibility for professional development by attending recommended education and training offerings, regularly reviewing the scientific literature to improve clinical competencies, and meeting professional continuing education requirements to maintain competence and licensure.
- →Performs other related professional duties as assigned by the supervisor, e.g., participating in program audits, site visits, tracers, environment of care rounds to facilitate internal or external reviews by inspectors, accrediting bodies and/or regulatory agencies.
