About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • Provides a full range of psychological assessment services and diagnoses mental disorders and behavioral health conditions. 2.
  • Provides education to patients, family members and significant others. 3.
  • Provides comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, family and group psychotherapy 4.
  • Provides consultation to professional staff within VAMC, and to community providers, concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment plans for patients. 5.
  • Develops, implements, and documents the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients, including prompt completion of clinical reminders. 6.
  • Functions independently as a member of the VAMC Medical Staff, with full clinical privileges.
  • Assumes complete professional responsibility for his/her clinical. 7.
  • Incumbent will be a part of the Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) team.
  • The PCMHI psychologist works collaboratively within PACT to promote prevention, early identification, and treatment of most mild to moderate behavioral health and health behavior concerns as part of routine primary care.
  • PCMHI visits are brief (generally, 30 minutes or less), limited in number (1-6 visits).
  • Administrative Responsibilities 1.
  • Assists the Service Line Director or Program Director in the design, development and implementation of clinical programs for a team of treatment providers. 2.
  • Adheres to operational policies and procedures for the treatment team, established by the Service Line Director 3.
