About the Role
About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency. It is located at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center located on Fort Gordon, Georgia. This position is as a Mental Health Consultant (MHC). As such, the employee will be physically located within the Primary Care clinic and serve as a consultant to the Primary Care team. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
What You'll Do
- →Make mental health diagnoses in accordance with the most recent version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) when differential diagnosis is required.
- →Provide individual and group treatment using evidence-based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches.
- →Provide primary care providers and staff regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients, to include recommendations for team-based care.
- →Implement psychoeducational classes to target high frequency diagnoses found in the primary care clinic.
- →Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.
- →Perform PCMH biopsychosocial evaluations to propose behavioral health interventions.
- →Evaluate clinical records and monitors all objective instrument administration and scoring for quality assurance.
